What does a typical UP! tour look like?

Starting and ending in Entebbe (where the airport is), we do a 1000 miles loop around Uganda.

We drive you ourselves in sturdy 4x4 vehicles on the road trip of a lifetime. There will be lots of road dust, but the scenery and colourful life of the people will more than make up for it.

Entebbe

Where our tout starts and ends. On the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe hosts the international airport and is the perfect place to welcome you to Africa with a cosy guesthouse, comfortable bed, great breakfast and warm, friendly staff. Looking over Lake Victoria its clear you are in the tropics with wonderful vegetation and often monkeys running all over! A must-see at the end of our tour is Entebbe’s Botanical Garden.

Want to have an experience of a lifetime?

Our next tour departs on February 2025!

Travelling Uganda off the beaten path

  • When is the next tour?
We run our small group tours around February each year, as this is the dry season which means we avoid muddy roads. The 2025 tour is planned for 16th February to 4th March 2025. Interested to join? Send us a message.
  • How much does the tour cost?
Our next tour costs in the region of £2,650 per person but do talk with us if you want to bring your children as we will work hard to get you a discount.
  • What does the tour include?
Other than flights, absolutely everything is included in an UP! Tour. From landing at the airport to taking off 16 days later we have you covered: accommodation, travel within Uganda, National Park fees, food and drink.
  • What other expenses should I expect?
We do recommend you bring a little cash to buy some wonderful African art or crafts. And if you want to go white water rafting down the amazing River Nile, that will be an extra.
  • What should I bring to the trip?
We will help you prepare, but the rule is to pack much less than you think you will need. It will be hot and dusty, but we can get clothes cleaned at most places.
  • Does part of the money paid go to the projects?
Absolutely it does. In the region of £400 of your fee goes to the UP! Foundation. We are proudly prudent with your money and know that a small amount invested carefully in a community at the right time, can have a huge impact.
  • I want to support the projects but can’t join a tour. What can I do?
We know that visiting Uganda isn't for everyone, but you can still get involved. UP! Offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with Ugandan communities working their way out of poverty and hunger. What's more we are small and fully transparent sending every penny you give to Uganda and giving you direct feedback on its use and impact.
